Ezra Furman first came to the fore when he formed Boston based rock and rollers Ezra Furman & the Harpoons. After 2 blisteringly sharp albums the band split but the seeds were sown for Ezra himself to start making music by himself and very special music it is too.
Returning to his hometown of Chicago, Ezra holed up in an attic and promptly wrote and recorded ’The Year of No Returning’ as audacious a debut album as you’re likely to hear it was quickly followed in 2013 by second long player ‘Day of the Dog’, which cemented his reputation as one of the most exciting singer songwriters in the US today. He rocks, he connects, he haunts and he kills. These days he usually plays with his wild band, The Boy-Friends. He’s one of our finest Rock ‘n’ Roll fools, heart open wide and fangs bared. Keep your eyes peeled, ladies and gents, Ezra Furman is on his way to Bestival.
